Shirley Elizabeth Smith passed away on January 12, 2026, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her loving husband William Herbert (2018 )of 66 years, her daughter Janice and son Brent (Julianne). Shirley also leaves to mourn 4 grandsons, Trevor, Jason , Mitchell and Dallas, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Shirley enjoyed square dancing, line and round dancing, bingo, cribbage and was an avid reader.
In keeping with Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Shirley's life will take place on Saturday January 24th from 2:00pm- 5:00pm at The Thorold Legion Branch #17, 3 Ormond Street South, Thorold.
Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Royal Cemetery in Quebec. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.
