I have very fond memories of Mr. Stahl at Woodland school. He had such a passion for reading and humour, and I always enjoyed his classes. He introduced me to many great authors such as Roald Dahl and others. An amazing teacher who had a great impact on his students. Thinking about his family and loved ones during this time.

Kara and family,
I am sending my deepest condolences and am very sorry to hear about your loss. Kara I remember playing at your house many times and your dad taking us ice skating at haig bowl arena a few times. I also remember him as a great teacher and librarian at woodland school. I know this is a difficult time but I just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts.

Erin my condolences to you and your family.
Tim was a very nice man that I got to know from where I worked. I recall after his retirement he delivered flowers. I would often drive by there and think of him.

My deepest condolences to the family. Mr. Stahl was one of the greatest teachers I remember. From an early age at Woodland school I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Stahl as my library teacher. I will always remember the way he animated the Roald Dahl book he read to us, I couldn’t wait for the next library class. Later on I was so lucky to have Mr. Stahl as my Gr. 7 teacher, such memories! He had the whole class write a letter to their future selves and mailed every single one to the high school you attended in Gr. 10, what an amazing memory. I still have the laminated art piece I re-created from a Toto vinyl album we did in art class. I don’t remember every day in Gr. 7 but I definitely remember the feeling, positive, safe, humorous and that you were a person. That says a lot about a teacher. It was great to see Mr. Stahl in the past few years and just say hello.

I came to Woodland for my grade 8 year. Mr Stahl was my favorite teacher. He would always approach you and say something that would make you have to think of what he just said...whether it was a brain teaser, or a puzzle you had to figure out. He was soft spoken yet intriguing. He made you want to try harder :)
He left an impression on me that has lasted forever.
Rest in peace Mr Stahl - God Bless you.

I loved my year in Grade 7 at Woodland School with Mr. Stahl as my teacher! He was able to balance academics, sports and fun each day. I remember learning to receipt the alphabet backwards, spending 2 weeks recording all of the Canadian statistics on the Winter Olympics, and playing a prank on Mr. Stahl on April Fool's Day. Our whole class piled up all of the furniture in the room against the door so that Mr. Stahl couldn't get in the room. The furniture was higher than the door when he cracked the door open a tiny bit and said "You have 5 minutes!" , and he left. We scurried around like crazy and he came back with his calm and cool approach. Mr. Stahl you showed us class!! Thank you for the memories.
My thoughts are with your family.

Erin, I am so very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. I so enjoyed getting to know Tim during our times at the Sea Star. I loved talking with him, his sense of humor and wit.
