Passed away peacefully at Heritage Place, Virgil in her 96th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband “Apollonius” Paul Kannegieter. Dearest mother of Janie-Lou Bode (Ron)(late Neil E Culbertson), Jo-Anne Smyth (Rob), Paul Kannegieter (Alison), dearest Oma and Grandma to Samantha, Josh (Ashley), Alex (Cory), Nick (Brittany), Paul (Kayla) and Great granddaughters Piper and Penelope.
Born in The Netherlands, she emigrated from Holland 16 days after marrying her husband Paul. She began her nursing career at Mount Sinai hospital in Toronto. Wilhelmina worked until they started a family and then she stayed home to raise the children. In 1984 she went back to college to do a refresher course in nursing. Wilhelmina graduated with honours and worked at Shalom Manor until she retired. She enjoyed being involved in many different bible studies and loved making cards as a hobby.
“Be thankful in all things” was mom’s motto in life. Her deep strong faith was her cornerstone foundation. Her family, especially Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren brought so much joy into her life and she will be greatly missed.
Many thanks to the Heritage Place Radiant Care staff and Pastor Mike for the loving compassionate care they’ve shown to Wilhelmina these past 13 years.
A private committal service will take place.
Psalm 25:14, “The Lord confides in those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them".
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Bible Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
