He was born in Lakehurst, NJ to Clyde Williams and Mary Andert. After his father died, his mother remarried Leo Kaczerowski and Leo adopted Ed. Ed had five siblings and half-siblings. Ed married Frank Stobart (who survives) on March 17, 2017 in St. Louis, MO.
Ed was a US Navy veteran serving from 1964-1968 in Japan. Over the years, Ed worked as a cook and eventually owned his own restaurant. Most recently he worked as a caregiver. His hobbies included walking and gardening. Orchids were his specialty. He enjoyed music and especially choral music. Over the years he sang with many choral groups, including the Statesmen and the St. Louis Metro Singers, where he served as a singer, board member and stage crew member. Ed also was a member of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir.
Ed’s body was donated to the Washington University Medical School. A memorial marker will be placed in his memory at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
A Celebration of Ed's Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10am at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 W. Lockwood, Webster Groves MO 63119.
