Edward Jacob Werkmann

Sweet, gentle soul left us suddenly December 14, 2018. Much loved son of Karl and Lorraine and little brother to Nick (Cheryl), his passing has left a giant hole that can never be filled. Dear nephew to Jackie (Jim), Karen, Eric (Deb), Sabrina (Pat), quiet cousin and loyal friend.

Jake grew up in south St. Louis, attended Metro High School and earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Washington University/UMSL with honors. He held many jobs in his short life but was most proud of the construction projects in the St. Louis area that he had taken part in.

Intelligent, quiet and quick witted, he would often surprise you with a superb one-liner. There were many family nights filled with laughter at the banter between Jake and Nick.

He loved history, could quote the Simpson's extensively, was a mathematical whiz, and a virtual walking sports encyclopedia. He enjoyed competitive video games and also loved tennis and hockey. He savored a good book, reading history, classics and of course Harry Potter. A dog lover, he would help round up dogs if they were running loose in the neighborhood.

A part of us will be missing forever. We love you always.
