Estelle Frances Dale

Estelle G. Dale (nee Gahan) 91, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David E. Dale. Beloved mom and friend of Kathie (Gene) Hanneke. Loving grandmother to David (Mandi Jo) and Stephen Hanneke. Fun greatgrandma of Rebecca Hanneke. She was preceded in death by her sisters Rita Gahan and Helen Kichline. She was a proud native of Rhode Island, but loved living in St. Louis and supporting the Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis Zoo, and Forest Park Forever. She loved people and hearing their stories. She didn't know a stranger and many became her friends. She volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital for 35 years on 4 East and at St. Vincent's on Park Avenue for many years. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Shrewsbury for 60 years. She loved starting each morning with Mass with her friends at Our Lady of Life Independent Living Apartments and enjoyed many activities there. Her ever-present smile, cheerful, upbeat personality and zest for life will be sorely missed by her family and friends. All were touched by her deep faith in God and she leaves the world a far better place. Services: Visitation Friday, April 26, from 4 to 7pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street at Watson. Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 27, at Our Lady of Life Chapel, 7655 Watson Rd., 10:30 am, with a brief visitation from 10 to 10:30 at Our Lady of Life. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
