Florence was born December 6, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Vincent G. Collins and Elinor Mary Donnewald Collins. She married her husband, Walter A. Lerch on August 29, 1942 in Saint Louis. Walter left on December 23, 1942 to serve our Country in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, Florence, Walter, and their three children, Barbara, Jim, and Joan settled in Webster Groves.
Florence was a loving and fun-loving mother, a devoted and cherished wife, a dear sister, grandmother and aunt, and a fierce and loyal friend to many.
A Rite of Committal will be performed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Chapel. Services are private.
In lieu of flowers, Florence asked that donations to Foundation Fighting Blindness be given in her memory.
