To your family, I met Jimmy from eating lunch at the restaurant almost everyday. It must have been 20 years ago. There was always such a family feel and we always felt welcomed. This was difficult news to hear. We are thinking of the family now because Jimmy has gone to a better place, a place where you know he is with the Lord. Just remember our family will not forget your kindness and friendship.

I am so sorry for your loss.  As someone who frequents Seamus McDaniels at least once a week, I can tell you that something special happens every time I walk in the place.  It starts with warm greetings from the bartender and wait staff and continues throughout the entire dining experience.  From the folks that make sure your food is just as you ordered it to the professional staff that clears your table with a smile.  At Seamus, I am family.  Jim and Sue are at the heart of all it, leading by example with their kindness and generosity.  An entire community is mourning the loss of a good man who touched more lives than he would ever know.  May his memory always be a blessing to you and help you heal during this difficult time.  My thoughts and prayers to family, friends and all who knew him.

I never gotten to meet Jim personally but from what everybody say about were great stories. Very sad to hear he passed my condolences to the family. May his soul rest peacefully

Just heard about Jimmy passing. I am so sorry for The entire Saemus Family and especially Sue and Elaine. Bob Boehm, my father, who passed away few years ago was a daily patron and friend of the restaurant. I have known Jimmy for most of my life.  He was on of the good guys.  He will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family and a neighborhood that is grieving.

My husband and I would have lunch at Seamus's on Saturdays while we were dating and we decided it was the perfect place for our wedding reception back in 1999; such warm and happy memories then and over the years.  So sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I saw Jim at Seamus a week ago when I went by to check on Sue's condition. There was a slow moment at the restaurant so he took time out like he always did, to say hello and talk for bit. He had just come from home and Sue , happy that she was recovering well from her surgery. It was a nice visit that day talking about some memories and catching up. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue, Jim's Family, and the entire Seamus Mc'Daniel's Family. Jimmy was such a central figure in the lives of so many good friends and his Family. It is a profound loss for the Dogtown community and St Louis. I will miss my good friend Jimmy . He will always live on in the hearts of those he left behind . God bless Jimmy and all who are saddened by his loss.

We are completely grief stricken and mourn Jimmy's loss for Sue, the Venincasa family, the Seamus employees, ourselves and our entire community.   Jim's passing has hit hard and we still can't catch our breath. 
   
Jim was  warm, caring, giving, strong, devoted, a friend to so many.  Jim always had a smile and was ready to laugh or poke fun.  We don't want to miss him.  We want to walk into the restaurant and see him greeting us.   We all know  Jim & Sue's establishment is more than just a public house to meet and eat.  It's a vital connection in our Dogtown community because of Jim, Sue and his family. 
 
Our family has celebrated countless birthdays, going away parties, wakes and the like at Seamus McDaniels.  We go there for no reason other than to enjoy a visit to our neighborhood bar and see  friends.   No matter what the event, it was always right to be there.  It felt right.  We felt the welcome & warmth from Jim & Sue and their staff as though they were a part of our family celebrating with us, whatever the reason.   They are our family too.   And the best thing is, they made everyone feel that way.

Dogtown is a strong community and will rally behind Sue and the family  as witnessed since Saturday when we received the heart -wrenching news.  We love you all so much, and take comfort knowing we can  help for a fleeting moment with words of sorrow and compassion.  We will respond to any little task asked of us, and hope Sue, that you will ask for our help.   We care, and want so badly for Jimmy's family to know this.  It will help us deal with the pain that we will have to learn to live with.

Our first steps back into Seamus McDaniels will be the beginning of the healing process for us and so many others.   Our heartfelt prayers go out to Jim and everyone who loved him and that was loved by him.   It hurts so bad right now.  We grieve for Jim, Sue and the entire Seamus family.  We all are Seamus. Jimmy was Randy's best friend, closer than a brother. They were always there for each other, would do anything to help one another out. Jimmy was truly a Blessing to Randy and I and we cannot imagine what life is going to be like without him. It is just a special relationship that will never be replaced. Very sorry to hear this.  I did not really know Jimmy or his wife Sue, but being a Hibernian and customer of Seamus, I am very familiar with the name and all the good they did for our community.  They will be missed and will be saying prayers for all of the family. I am glad he did get to be Grand Marshal of this year's parade along with his wife. God bless all.

My wife Annie and I moved to webster9 years ago from ny. We were looking for an Irish pub and were recommended to Seamus. Immediately we were welcomed. The kindness , generosity and sense of community  spirit for their beloved dogtown neighborhood was over whelming to us.i loved talking to Jim about sports cooking and always trying to create a reason for staying open on Sunday's during football season. But that was the day of rest unless someone in the community needed a place far a fundraiser then the doors with lux be open to help. We will miss him a great human being. He was truly a gift from God that me & my family will sorely miss. His quiet generosity is one all should live their life by. Things will never be the same, but we are all better because of Jimmy.
