A Life Built with Heart, Skill, and Purpose

Jeff was a master craftsman in every sense of the word. As a highly skilled and respected electrician, he possessed a natural gift and intuition for understanding how things worked. Even as he became non-verbal, he continued to bring power, sound, and structure to nearly everything he touched. His exceptional talent in construction went far beyond blueprints and DeWalt power tools; there was no problem too complex, no engine too puzzling, and no challenge too daunting for Jeff’s capable mind and craftsmanship.

Jeff’s most heartfelt project was the home addition that he designed and built with vision, persistence, pride, and perfection. While the renovation journey spanned many years, it served as a true sanctuary during his illness and motivated him each day to focus on the positive. Most joyfully, the finished home became the backdrop for life’s sweetest milestones: two weddings and receptions, a prom pre-party, a bridal shower, and a wedding rehearsal dinner. “Sir Jefferson” was the steadfast anchor of our home—a constant source of strength, protection, humor, and unconditional love.

Jeff Put the ‘F’ in Fun

Every day with Jeff was an adventure. He approached life with a vibrant, joyful spirit and had a deep passion for anything with an engine. Whether restoring, fine-tuning, tinkering, or simply enjoying the roar, Jeff found genuine happiness in the open road and the beauty of classic mechanics.

He possessed an infectious curiosity and an eagerness to take the scenic route, to enjoy sunrise and sunsets, chase rainbows and find delight around every turn of a tranquil road less traveled. He traveled light, his bags were always packed, and every journey was an opportunity to create lasting experiences. He especially enjoyed spending time in our Florida home and learned to love Disney. Other fun trips included cruises, and a 2-week galivant to Europe. Jeff loved capturing the moments, the laughter, and adventures through photographs, preserving memories that will be forever precious.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul and Kay Marshall, who welcomed him into eternal rest.

A visitation and reception celebrating Jeff’s many adventures will immediately follow the service at the church, with food and drinks provided.

While all are welcome, the family fully understands that the four-hour round-trip drive from St. Louis is a significant commitment for a holiday weekend, so please do not feel obligated to attend burial.
