Jeremy Marvin finally lost his battle to throat and neck cancer on September 30. His last weeks were spent at two different locations at Barnes Jewish Hospital – including the Evelyn’s House hospice care -- where they tried to treat various illnesses, but ultimately couldn’t help him.
He was born May 5, 1980 and spent his short life in the St. Louis metro area, living in Arnold (where he made several life-long friends from Fox High School), Lake St. Louis and the Central West End. He had various careers in sales and worked for the family interior design business, S&K Interiors and Staging. He loved boating at the Lake of the Ozarks and other water sports and was very fond of playing video games.
He had a kind disposition and was always thoughtful of others – you would remark in passing about something that you liked to do and for Christmas he would remember and buy you the best presents from that one moment. He also had an innate curiosity about the world around him, especially the online world and watching endless documentaries. He taught himself web design and how to manage online advertising campaigns for various businesses and was always current on the latest Apple products.
He is survived by his grandmother, Lorraine Becker and his parents, David and Shirley Strom and Kent and Lynne Marvin (all from St. Louis) and his sister, Kathryn McCain, wife of Matthew McCain of Newnan, Geo.
In his memory the family has asked donations to be made to the Foundation for Barnes Jewish Hospital or Evelyn’s House. Both played critical roles in his care at the end of his life.
