Joan Kenny, beloved aunt, great-aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born on July 9, 1929, in Longford, Ireland, to the late Daniel Kenny and Mary Ann Clarke.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Catherine Mannion (Martin).
She is survived by her nieces, Anne Stacey (Kurt Haushalter) and Mary Plunkett (Edward); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Amanda Civello (Joseph), Liam Stacey (Anna), Myles Stacey (Justin Kearley), Sean Plunkett, and Colin Plunkett; as well as her extended family in Ireland.
Joan was a woman who found great joy in her faith, her family, her community, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. She was very involved with Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, where she participated in the Legion of Mary and the Holy Names Society. She was also a familiar and beloved presence at the senior center, which she enjoyed visiting every day.
Joan loved spending time with Anne and enjoyed helping with her cattle, including the cows, donkey, and horse. She had a wonderful appreciation for people and could often be found enjoying one of her favorite pastimes—people watching. She also loved playing cards and spending time with those around her.
One of Joan’s most cherished companions was her parrot, Luke, whom she loved dearly. Luke has since passed away, but the special bond they shared will always remain a treasured memory for those who knew Joan.
Joan will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to her faith and family, her love of animals, and the joy she found in being part of her community. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, MO 63109, US, on September 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, MO 63109, US, on September 15, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 6901 MacKenzie Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123, US, on September 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
