John W. Holleran

Dearest son of the late John & May (nee Clark) Holleran; Beloved husband for over 55 years to the late Anne (nee Sweeney); Loving Father of Jack (Debbie) Holleran, Mary (the late Terry) Gummels, Diane Scott (Brian Hayden), and the late Michael (Deanna)Holleran; Adored Grandfather of Catie (Nick) Bryant, the late Colleen Walters, Monte Gummels, Matthew Holleran, Patrick Holleran, Kevin (Brooke) Holleran, Sarah (Scott) Gentz, Michael (Rose) Scott, Andrew (Miranda) Scott, John (Erica) Holleran and Sean Holleran (Keith Culley); Cherished Great-Grandpa of Austin, Bradley VonderHaar, Ava & Colin Walters, Maggie, Max Scott, Oliver Holleran, Jack & Mike Holleran , Drew Madison Holleran & Great-Great- Grandpa of Tessa Rose. Brother of the late Catherine, the late Patricia DeFiore & Eileen Pieri; Loving companion to Ann Bretz. Dear Uncle, Cousin and friend of many.

John was a lifelong Saint Louis native and a “jack of all trades”. He was a devout Catholic and very proud of his Irish heritage. John retired from Laclede Gas. He was a great mechanic, carpenter, electrician and spent many hours “tinkering” in his garage. John’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was known for his quick wit, great jokes, western movies and favorite T.V. shows along with movie nights with family. John cherished his family, friends and was very active at St Louis Activity Center. He set an example to all he knew. With a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face he would request that all who attend wear a mask for the safety of others during this difficult time.

SERVICE: Funeral Mass, Saturday, August 28th, 10:30 am at St Francis Xavier College Church, 3628 Lindell Blvd. at Grand Blvd. (63108). Visitation 9:00 am until time of service. Burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations in Jack’s name may be made to the St. Louis Activity Center or the American Heart Association.
