John Carl Schilling

Beloved husband of Dorothy (Maehringer) for 64 years; loving father of Becky Schilling (Denver, CO) and John Schilling Jr. (Jefferson City, MO); dear grandpa of Erin (Doug) Busken, Sarah Blake, Katie (Jason) Bryant, John Milosovich Jr.; five great granddaughters; cousin to Marcella Lauth; brother in law to Marguerite Rueschhoff; uncle to loved nephews and nieces.

John graduated from Cleveland High School and received a degree in chemical engineering in 1943 from the University of Missouri School of Mines at Rolla. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He worked for the St. Louis Health Department for 36 years, retiring as the Assistant Health Commissioner.

John enjoyed telling a good story. He enjoyed anything baseball (especially the Cardinals), loved crossword puzzles and collecting “stuff” like watches, stamps, and baseball caps.
