Father John G. Valenta, S.J. was called to eternal life on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Fusz Pavilion in St. Louis, MO, He was 95 years old, a Jesuit for 68 years and a priest for 53 years.

Born in St. Louis, MO, on August 1, 1922, he attended St. John the Baptist grade school St. Louis and St. Louis University High School; St. Louis University earning a B.S. Mathematics (1944), a B.S in Chemistry (1947), he earned a PHD in 1962. He entered the Society of Jesus, August 8, 1949 and was ordained on June 12, 1962.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Helen Valenta and brother Rudolph C. Valenta. He is survived by his brothers Richard and William Valenta.

Memorial service will be held on Wed. July 18, 2018 7 PM at Jesuit Hall Grand and Lindell. Memorial donation may be made to the Jesuits of the Central and Southern Province 4511 West Pine Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108. Arrangements by Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary.
