Born on September 10, 1933, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Joseph was the beloved son of Howard Margraff and Mary Ann Hoffmann. He lived a long and meaningful life marked by quiet strength, curiosity, and devotion to his family.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Julia Ann McDermott Margraff; and his siblings, Bud, Genevieve, Marie, and Julia.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Joan Margraff and Joe Margraff (Star); his cherished grandchildren, Darrian Paige Sheahan (Danny), Cheyenne Margraff (Kelly), Trevor Margraff, and Patience Margraff; and his adored great-granddaughter, Lillian Belle.
Joseph found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a lifelong love of learning and could often be found reading or working on puzzles, always eager to gain knowledge whenever he could. He enjoyed peaceful walks with his dog, quiet days spent fishing, and playing the piano. A true homebody, Joseph valued his time to himself, but those who knew him best will fondly remember his playful nature—especially how he lovingly teased and “annoyed” his beloved wife.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of curiosity, independence, and quiet humor will live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come.
