Joyce Knobbe

Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Vernon Knobbe; Loving mother of Laura (Scott) Benson, Linda (Keith) Werckmann, Lisa (Mike) Kurkowski, and Leigh (Elgin) Manalang; Adored grandmother of Ryan (Laura), Adam (Megan), and Nick (Nicole) Benson, Alyssa (Joe) Welling, Tiffany (Alex) Woodard, Lexie (Alex) Ruhmann, Kaylie (Sarah) Werckmann, Jacob and Matthew Kurkowski, Maximilian, Gabriel, Audrey, and Oliver Manalang; Cherished great-grandmother of Isabel, Lincoln, Leo, Harrison, Zoey, Theo, and two more on the way; Dear sister of the late Joan Range, late Donald Range, late Richard (late Karen) Range, and the late Ken (Joyce) Range; Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mildred Range and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard (Helen) Knobbe, Lois (Gene) Feicht, Jacqueline (Tom) Beckerle, and Kenneth (Pat) Knobbe.

Joyce was a devoted member—alongside her husband Vernon—of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, where she actively volunteered. Her generous spirit was evident in her work with the Girl Scouts, Birthright Counseling St. Louis, and as a Master Gardener at the Missouri Botanical Garden. She also served as Past President of the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood Association.

An avid reader—often with multiple books going at once—Joyce found great joy in literature, gardening, and, most especially, in the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Service: Visitation Sunday, September 7th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street at Watson.

Funeral Mass, Monday, September 8th 10:00 am at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 6303 Nottingham Avenue. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
