LaVerne Rose Cole

LaVerne was the beloved wife of the late Buford Ray Cole; devoted mother of Nancy (the late Michael) Hyde, Diana (the late Michael) Reif, Charles Cole, Lisa (Bruce) Combs, Tracie (Jim) Berding, and Cindy Brower; loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother for a total of 32.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Harmon, and her 8 siblings.

LaVerne or "Aunt Bunny" as she was affectionately known, was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in South St. Louis where she and her husband worked for many years. She dedicated many years of her life caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed helping out with Girl Scouts, baking, crafts, and having the family over for meals. She found special joy when her kids and grandkids came to visit.

LaVerne was generous, loving, friendly, funny, loved to sit out in the sun, and enjoyed singing hymns. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will take place on Friday, January 9 from 3-8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, 63109. A second visitation will be on January 10 from 9:30am until 10am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2650 Miami Street, 63118. The Funeral Service will begin at 10am. Interment immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park in Affton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital https://www.glennon.org/or a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated by her family.
