Beloved daughter of the late Hugh and Renetta McBain; wife of the late Ibsen F. Boyce, Jr. “Buzzie” Dear mother of Charlotte Boyce, Catherine (Matthew) Sprenger and Christine Boyce; Loving grandmother of Cydney Boyce (Malcolm Abdullah), Brandon (Ashabari) Sprenger, Alexis (Ryan) Zickel and Erika Sprenger; adored great-grandmother of Audrey Kelly and Nora Sprenger; dear sister of Karen (Tim) Varady, the late James (Billie) McBain, late Dennis (late Joanne) McBain, late Philip (Candace) McBain; dear sister-in-law of Sandy Diehl, Brenda (late Charlie) Bolfing, late Cheryl Boyce and Beverly (Bob) Terry; our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Linda was a devout Catholic. She was proud of her faith, and worked hard to ensure her girls received a strong Catholic education. She loved her husband, Buzzie, and would light up with his jokes, no matter how many times she had heard them.
She enjoyed taking her girls to Crestwood Mall to shop, always making a stop at Bissinger’s Candy for Swedish fish. She loved it when she ran into people she knew, introducing her daughters, and more times than not, getting told she looked more like a sister than a mother.
Although cooking was not her go to, a canister of soup starter mix and a crock pot was all she needed to feel like Julia Child. Friday nights at the Boyce residence meant chili nacho night-everyone’s favorite.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren. A game of cards, spoons, or dominos was always loud, with laughter and screams heard throughout the house. She was silly with them and made them laugh.
Linda enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Linda was an avid walker. She was often seen walking her grand-dogs around the neighborhood.
Linda’s smile, compassion, humor and sincerity will be greatly missed. She was deeply loved by her family. Her soul has found eternal peace.
