Lois Ann Cota

Born on October 26, 1947, to Edward and Beula Jasinski, Lois was a woman of fierce resilience who approached life with determination, unwavering grit, and a sharp wit. She was a passionate advocate for children, channeling her formidable energy into sponsoring activities and supporting programs within the local school system. A strong, beautifully headstrong woman, Lois used her spirited, direct ways to lift others up and stand up for what she believed in. Her no-nonsense approach to life ensured that she raised incredibly independent, resilient, and successful children.

Beyond her local advocacy, Lois had an enduring love for beauty and the arts, frequently supporting local cultural programs. She also possessed a profound love for travel, exploring the world hand-in-hand with her husband, Edward. Together, they shared countless adventures, discovering new places, embracing different cultures, and creating a lifetime of beautiful memories side-by-side.

Lois’s greatest pride was the family she built. She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward James Cota, and their three beloved children: John Cota, Jackie Holder, and Jennifer Snyder. She was a proud grandmother to Matthew Cota; Isabelle, Emma, and Lily Holder; and Rebecca, Hannah, and Ryan Snyder. Her family will forever cherish her memory and carry forward the lessons of strength, curiosity, and independence she modeled every day.

Services & Celebration of Life

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, MO 63109, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and pay their respects.

Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wildflower Saloon, 4900 Laclede Ave, St. Louis, MO 63108 in the Central West End. In honor of Lois’s vibrant spirit, her bright outlook, and her love for bringing people together, this gathering will be a reflection of a life beautifully and fully lived.

To honor and celebrate Lois's bright and spirited life, the family kindly requests that guests wear yellow to both the visitation and the celebration of life.
