I just finished three days of working on your tax returns for 2010, and the words "final" appearing on same, were tough to swallow. You have a birthday coming up on March 16th and a small group of your friends will be gathering in your honor. Dani, Joe, Mike, Grace, Ginger and countless others miss you so very much. This month has been the hardest. Many times, I have come across old notes that you wrote or other countless examples of your selfless nature. I was blessed and miss you so very much. Thanks for being the special person that you were from the first day I met you. There is a big void in my life not having you around. Rest in peace, my very special friend.

Marion Herr was one of the most caring and generous co-workers I met in my 37 year career in the Farm Crdit System. She was the Executive Secretary for four Presidents of the St. Louis Bank for Cooperatives (including me) and was respected by all who came in contact with her. From the first day we met in 1969 she has inspired me with her professionalism and her commitment to others. Even before she retired in 1983, her proudest contributions were to the History Museum, the Campbell House, and her beloved church Hope Lutheran. She and her sister Ethel touched many of us in our professional and volunteer lives with their zest for life. She will be missed.

During a turbulent time in our family's lives, you were always a steadfast beacon of kindness and love. Dearest Marian, how lucky I feel. Thank you for everything.

I miss our lunch times together at the Garden.  It was such fun to get to "travel" with you through all of your picture albums.  I felt like I truly had been around the world.  My very favorite had to be the trip to California with the girls.  It looked like such fun.  I'm going to miss you very much, but am so fortunate to have known you.  You brought joy to everyone you were around.

Marian was a true inspiration.  So full of life and love.  I knew she was a special lady the day I saw her & Ethel stop on their way to church to give Hans (the neighborhood Rottweiler) a dog biscuit from her purse.  She loved animals and always had a sweet story to tell about her beloved Dachshund.  May you rest in peace and enjoy eternity in Heaven with your dear twin.

I will always cherish our "special days" together exploring St. Louis. You will always be in my heart.

It was always a joy to share time with Marian, she will be missed very much.

Marian, you were truly a blessing to everyone you came in contact with. You not only blessed my life, but my children's life. I will cherish my wonderful memories of our times together. I know you are enjoying being with our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. And reunited with your loved ones. You were truly God's disciple. Love you Marian.

Rest in peace, beautiful lady. You are so dear to everyone who knew you. Many lives have been enriched through your kindness and gentle grace.

Your love of life, constant quest for learning and sheer delight in the everyday journey have always been an inspiration to me. You and Ethel made a spunky pair, and there are so many in the world who love you. I am glad that you had some of those beings with you each day in the last week of your life, including Maya who planted sweet licks of adoration on your nose! I will miss you, and will always carry the gift of that delightful smile and joyous laugh with me.

My very best friend, you will be missed very dearly. You were the kindest person I have ever known. My heart is full with the love that we shared. I am so glad that I was holding your hand when you left for Heaven.
