Born on October 11, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Richard and Mary (née Dooley) Heumann, who preceded her in death.
Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, Jessica Rahn (Justin); her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Dooley, and Beau Rahn; her siblings, Kathy Davidson (John), Bill Heumann (Marsha), and Peggy Winkler; and her dear cousin, Mary Ann Lockett (Bruce).
Nancy was a free spirit who loved deeply and showed up for those she loved. She was everyone’s go-to person, the one to call with any problem because somehow, she always found a way to solve it. Hilarious, generous, beautiful, caring, strong, stubborn, and outspoken, Nancy had a personality that was impossible to forget. She gave freely of her time, her talents, and her heart.
A creative soul with a wonderful eye for beauty, Nancy loved photography, jewelry making, and fashion. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Carmel, California; Colorado; and Saugatuck, Michigan. She loved being by the ocean and, during her years as a flight attendant, traveling wherever Ozark Airlines would take her. She kept a never-ending calendar of lunch dates with her girlfriends. Her life was filled with friendships, creativity, and the people and places she loved.
Above all, Nancy’s greatest joy was being “Baga” to her three grandchildren, Jack, Dooley, and Beau. They were the center of her world, and she was like a second mother to them. She loved them deeply and without judgment. Their interests became her interests, and she poured every ounce of her free time and energy into their lives. Whether holding a newborn grandchild through a three-hour nap, cheering at countless sporting events, sorting through Pokémon cards, or making jewelry and doing crafts, Baga was always there. To them, she was the very best.
Nancy also leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. She was a bright light in this world. Her humor, creativity, generosity, and unwavering love made her one of a kind. She will be forever missed, and the love she poured into those around her will remain a lasting part of their lives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BJC Evelyn’s House in honor of Nancy’s memory.
May Nancy rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
