

Raymond was the cherished soulmate of Judith Gibbons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Leon and Ann (nee Meshak) Senuk of Brooklyn, New York.
Raymond Senuk was a collector of historic Maya textiles for over thirty-five years. His collecting interests focused on textiles that date prior to 1940. His collection consists of over 1,200 pieces. The goal of the collection was to acquire a wide range of textile material of the highest quality with the eventual goal of placing the collection in the public sector. Over 1,500 pieces have been donated to various museums and educational institutions including: the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C., the Lowe Museum at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, the Casteñada Museum of Ethnic Costume, Tucson, AZ, the University of Southern Indiana at Evansville and the University of Southern Florida at Orlando.
What was originally an avocation turned into a scholarly pursuit of the subject. Mr. Senuk authored books and articles on the subject. He curated numerous shows and lectured extensively on the subject. He held undergraduate and graduate degrees in Anthropology from Brooklyn College, (City University of New York) and Yale University. He was past President of the US Foundation, Friends of the Ixchel Museum. He resided in Antigua, Guatemala and St. Louis, Missouri.
Raymond was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War.
Raymond and Judith were passionate about Newfoundlands and Greater Swiss Mountain dogs, and adopted many over the years.
Raymond was quite a renaissance man.
