Rosemary Sue Wolf (nee Fortner), fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 27, 2026, surrounded by people who loved her dearly. Born October 3, 1955, she filled 70 great years with more light than most could fit into a hundred.
Anyone whose life Sue was part of will tell you the same thing: she made it brighter. She was the kindest, most giving, and most intelligent person her family has ever known, well-rounded in the way only someone genuinely interested in other people can be. She was herself until the very end, warm, generous, and always quick to say I love you. She taught her family by example that the greatest gift anyone has is the ability to give, and she gave to her final day: her time, her patience, her wisdom, and her whole heart.
For years, Sue carried her pain quietly and never asked anyone to carry it with her. That is why her family cannot say they are only sad. She has finally been given her rest, and the peace she spent a lifetime giving to others is now hers. Her lessons of patience and kindness will echo for generations. She was never alone at the end, and no one who loved her ever will be, because Sue never really leaves her people. She is still watching, still smiling, still blessing the room like she always did.
Sue was the cherished mother of Christina (Mark) Wolf-Deany, Andrew Wolf, and Emily Wolf; devoted grandmother of Zachary, Jordan, Nathan (Hannah), Carter, Janelle, Jovan, Anna, and Dawson; loving sister of Bill (Linda) Fortner, Carl (Linda) Fortner, and Margaret Davidson; dear aunt of Patricia, Jenny, Michael, Billy, Josh, and Dylan; dear cousin, and a friend to anyone she met.
Sue was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Karla Fortner; her niece, Melinda Fortner; and her great-nephew, Patrick Macdonald.
Her family invites you not to mourn a loss, but to celebrate a life that was, by every measure that matters, perfect.
