Samuel Alfonso Brownfield

Sam was the beloved son of William and Gabriella Brownfield; loving brother of Michael (Tammy) Brownfield, Sandra (Keith) Crowe, and Mark (the late Casey) Brownfield; dear uncle of Mason McGavock, William Brownfield, Jacob Brownfield, Luke Brownfield, and Lily Brownfield; a dear cousin and friend to many in his lifetime.

Sam was born in Dover, Ohio in 1966. The family moved to St. Louis shortly after his birth. He attended St. James The Greater Grade School and St. John the Baptist High School. He became a firefighter for the City of St. Louis where he proudly served for over 15 years. He trained as a massage therapist after leaving the fire department.

Sam enjoyed going on float trips, and being with friends and family. Before his injuries sidelined him, he was an avid rugby player. He loved playing sports. He was obsessed with The Simpsons and MASH, and could relate a quote to any life situation.

Visitation will be Monday, June 6 from 9-11am at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 6401 Wade Avenue 63139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sam's memory to The BackStoppers would be greatly appreciated by his family.
