Susan Sisler-Mantese

Susan Sisler-Mantese, 68, passed away following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Though her time with us was cut far too short, Susan lived a life filled with love, faith, and meaningful connections with the people around her.

Susan was a devoted Christian whose faith in Jesus Christ was at the heart of who she was. She held firmly to the assurance of her salvation and the promise of eternal life. Susan was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Mark, and a cherished mother to her daughters, Lindsay Knowles and Lauren Schnitzler. She was a beloved daughter to her mother, Florence Sisler, and a dear sister to Patrice Lortz, Debi Kendall, Andrew Sisler, and Sam Sisler. She treasured her seven grandchildren and the joy they brought into her life. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Ray Sisler, and her former husband, Jay Duenow.

Susan was known for having a fierce pickleball serve. Her love of the Cardinals was evident to all. Many nights were spent at home watching Cardinals baseball while enjoying a glass of bold Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, the bolder, the better. Susan loved cooking and was a master chef. At the many dinner parties she hosted for family and friends, the table was always set elegantly, the food was wonderful, and Susan was never fearful of trying to make complicated dishes which were always sumptuous.

Susan leaves behind not only her family, but also many other relatives and countless friends whose lives were made richer by knowing her. She had a way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for, and the memories she created with those she loved will be treasured for years to come.

While Susan will be deeply missed, those who loved her can find comfort in her faith and in the assurance that she is now at peace, free from suffering, and safely home with her Lord. Her love, courage, kindness, and unwavering faith will remain a lasting part of the lives she has touched.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, October 3rd from 11am until 1pm with services immediately following at The Crossing at Grant's Trail, 2760 Union Road 63125.

A Celebration of Susan's Life will be held at a later date.
