

William N. Wester, Jr. now in the loving arms of the Lord, passed away quietly near midnight on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He is survived by the love of his life, Maggi, also known as Margaret Rose Roth Wester.
He was predeceased by his parents, William N. and Helen J. (Schilli) Wester. He is survived by five sisters, Ruth (the late Mel) Saunders, Hilda (Roger) Ries, Mary (John) Lahti, Dorothy (Gary) Lubbes and Christine (Kim) Alexander.
He was also predeceased by his parents in law, Matt and Margaret (Becker) Roth, brothers and sisters in law, Vincent (Kay) Roth and Rolland (Vera) Roth, brothers in law, Gerald Roth and Jerome Roth, brothers in law, Robert Postlewait and Milton Brecht, sister in law, Shirley Roth . He is survived by sisters in law, Joann Roth and Bernadine (Roth) Brecht, brothers and sisters in law, Albert (Posie) Roth, Fred (Betty) Roth, Alberta (Tom) Lizenby, Cletus (Joan) Roth, and Betty (George) Witt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill retired from Monsanto in 1993 and cherished many happy memories and opportunities presented. As a result, he was happy to attend Catholic University in Washington, DC, and W. Alton Jones Institute in Lake Placid, New York. Later, travel to China for a month with People to People, an ambassador group, provided many happy memories.
Hobbies that filled his plate included trout fishing and canoeing the streams of Missouri and Arkansas, sailing on the Mississippi that began in his teens, membership in the Buick car club, orchid collecting in Central America, photography, a passion for travel that took him to Europe numerous times, New Orleans for many Christmas trips, a two month cruise around South America, followed soon after by cruises to the Orient.
The family is being served by Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa, with visitation on Wednesday, April 3 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm, with the funeral mass on Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 am from St. Joan of Arc, 5800 Oleatha Avenue.
