August K. Whitlock, age 69, resident of St. Paul, MN, passed away on January 25, 2020. Born in Oklahoma City, August graduated from Del City HS and joined the United States Army shortly after. He went on to serve a tour and a half in Vietnam. After 10 years of service August went on to eventually become a self-published fiction author. His love for reading and writing spanned from his teenage years until his death. He was a simple minimalistic man who felt very misunderstood by the world and expressed most thoughts through his writing. He had a love for classic novels and books, biking, bowling, the Sooners, cooking, horse racing and coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse T. Whitlock and Mary H. Whitlock. He is survived by his siblings Jesse Jeans, Moiselle Grubs, Dennis Whitlock and Valerie Brownfield, children included Sonia, August II, David and Laura; Grandchildren included Jerome, Garth III, Devin, Ethan, Tristan, Oliver, Willow, Andrew, Jacob, and Abigail.
