Daniel J. Madigan

Preceded in death by his Parents Francis and Frances Madigan; Son Daniel; Brothers Robert; Edward and Raymond.

Daniel was a graduate of Cretin High School and an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He also served for 23 years in the St. Paul Police Department. Daniel was very proud of his hometown of St. Paul and his Irish heritage. He was a kind and quiet man who loved reading, chess, word puzzles and playing cards. He also enjoyed the thrill of driving his Porsche and any carnival ride that involved heights and speed. Daniel loved being in the midst of large family gatherings and taking road trips with his wife to visit family around the country. Most will remember his passion for daily walks around Lake Phalen.

Daniel will be deeply missed by Joyce, his loving and devoted Wife of 60 years; Children, Nina (Steve) Meyer; Larry; Diana (Doug) Severson; Mike (Malaika); Pat (Barb); Dawn (George) Kreuser; Grandchildren, Michael; Brian; Marc; Chris; Eddie; Deena; Ashley; Sarah; Joe; Shannon; Denise; Josh; Dustin; Shawn; Ashton; Jamie; Katy; Diana; Kelly; Jennifer; Patrick; Michael; Joey; 30 Great-Grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews, extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, July 12th at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Stanislaus Church, 398 Superior St., St. Paul. Interment will be at Fort Snelling.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations are preferred in Daniel Madigan’s name to the Alzheimer's Association.
