Eloise was a lovely woman inside & out.  With a sparkle in her eyes & that gigantic smile of hers she oozed "Welcome to our home" & "You are our Special Guest" every time you set foot in their clean & lovely home.  -  One warm summer day my daughter Sara & I went for a walk to drop off a plate at Eloise & Loren's Brooklyn Center home.  I intended to hand Eloise the plate & thank her for the goodies she had previously sent home with me after one of our Bible Studies & continue on our way.  Nope...Eloise had none of that & insisted we come in & have something to drink & some of her homemade cookies.  Man...she made good cookies!  My daughter's eyes lit up.  After that whenever I'd mention Eloise's name she'd say "Oh I know who that is...she's that really nice lady that gave us those good cookies!"  And yes Eloise was that nice lady...but she gave us much more than cookies...she gave us ALL her attention when we were with her & most of all her love.  I remember Eloise talking about her children & she would call them "Precious" & you could believe that she meant that word with all her heart.  She made me feel Precious too.  And we all knew without a shadow of a doubt that she loved her Savior Jesus!!  What a lovely, fun & playful family you have & may God Comfort & Bless you all - Cheryl Enninga   

 



 

What a sweet, beautiful woman I got to have for a grandma. One of my favorite things about going to her house while growing up was the smell of fresh baked bread. I remember playing with toys in the living room until it was time to eat, and then eating the bread with butter and honey once it was ready. After we were done eating she would always have me get up and come stand next to her so she could press around on my tummy to see if there was room for more. I'll always remember her laugh, her sense of humor, her spunkiness during a game of cards, her rib crushing hugs, her sloppy wet kisses on my cheek at every family gathering, her love of wheel of fortune, or her love for ice cream. One of the last times I came over to her house she had written herself a note in all caps that said "GIVE ALYSSA ICE CREAM" and underlined it, haha. It was always such a joy to be with her. I'll miss her warm smile and all our sweet conversations in which she would always be so attentive and interested in what I had to say. She has been such a blessing and a gift. I love you so much Grandma - what a joy it will be when I see you again.

It has been such a privilege and joy to know Eloise both as a child in Japan, and again as an adult in  our re-connection through Ruthann and Woodland Hills Church.   Eloise was a gracious, loving, praying, godly woman.  I had  wonderful memories of her warmth and generosity in Japan with hugs, buying us groceries at the commissary (we were so excited to get Cheerios and oranges!) and playing piano and singing in church.   I remember her kind words to my Dad- telling him she liked his singing!   He told this story for years!  And in recent years, it was  a thrill  to see her in church.  She ALWAYS had such a spark of joy.  I will never forget the in-depth visits I had  with her at her apartment and at the Episcopal Homes.   She was such an eager listener, so excited  to hear my news, and so happy to share news of her family.    She loved each of you with all her heart.  May the Lord be a great comfort to each of you. I have worked with Naomi for 25 years and to know Naomi you must know her family!  I was also very fortunate to live a few blocks down from Loren and Eloise from 1995-2005 in Brooklyn Center.  My oldest girls were babysat by the both of them a few times.  Upon pick up both Loren and Eloise were very excited to tell me what they did (played piano, played games).  Their care of my girls and the joy it brought to them on those few occasions was precious to see.  I remember watering their plants when they were gone.  Eloise was always trying to give me tomatoes from the tomato plants outside her back door, of course I'm not a tomato eater.  Over the many years I've seen Eloise at many family/friend get togethers and enjoyed talking with her.  She had such a gentle spirit and a real genuine interest in hearing about you.  I will miss Eloise and hold memories of her (and Loren) in my heart.

Eloise was and is my precious sister in Christ, my prayer warrior, a mentor a godly woman and friend whom I looked up to. She was an encourager, a woman filled with godly wisdom, love and compassion for all. She was a beautiful reflection of Jesus. I was abundantly blessed to know her and spend time with her. I met Eloise at Hope Lutheran Church and what a joy  that was. She sang in the choir and such a beautiful voice she had. As Jan said her hugs were remarkable. So tiny she was, but boy, how  strong!!! She used her gift in sewing to hem Doug’s slacks and some alterations on my clothing. I love Eloise. She’ll always be in my heart and I’m looking forward to joining her in Heaven to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ our Savior.

We are sorry for the loss of your wonderful mom.  Our family enjoyed spending time with Eloise over many Labor Day weekends.  Years ago, Eloise and Loren would host a really nice brunch for the Oehme crew at their house.  Over the past few years, we enjoyed entertaining at our home.  Eloise ALWAYS had a GENEROUS hug to share.  She made a point to have individual conversations with everyone who joined the celebration.  Eloise was so caring, positive and had a BIG heart.  She always contributed really good food too.  : ) We have many good memories to cherish and will always have loving thoughts of your mom!

We first met Eloise and her family in the fall of 1973 when we moved to Bear Lake.  They lived 1.5 miles North of us, even considering all the curves in the Bear Lake Rd.  Naomi was close in age to our two daughters and they became friends soon after our arrival to their neighborhood.  There was much back and forth activity over the years.  Eloise even taught our daughters piano.  It is hard to imagine a time when we were not friends with Eloise.  She played such an important part in our family’s life.  She was a kind, loving person who was also very helpful and informative in so many areas.  Once they moved away, we were really at a loss.  We never lost touch with them, though, and so enjoyed occasional visits.  Eloise was also such a Godly woman.  Each time we visited she seemed to have grown with her walk with God.  We had such marvelous conversations about her ideas concerning the Bible.  She was full of wisdom and so good at sharing Jesus.  About two years ago Ruth Ann brought her out for a visit.  It couldn’t have been a more fun day.  It seemed the day was gone in minutes.  She was so full of life and encouragement.  We even had a game of Parcheesi.  Two weeks before she died we went in to visit her.  We knew her health was not good so we weren’t sure what to expect.  As it turned out she was having a good day and we had a wonderful visit.  There was lots of laughing and stories about old memories.  Soon after we arrived Eloise told me that she would be seeing us again in heaven.  Once again, the time went so quickly.  It was so surprising to me that when I hugged her good bye I was not sad, considering that it was very possible that we would not be seeing her again on this Earth.  I almost sensed that she was so ready to meet Jesus and that it was His timing.  I feel honored to have been her friend over the years.  It is easy to imagine what a great loss it is for her children and my heart goes out to them.  I look forward to the day that we 

I will always treasure my friendship with Eloise, and our bible study which spanned more than 16 years. The retreats we had at Wilderness Fellowship were wonderful!
She was a very loving and encouraging person who loved the Lord.
Knowing she's at home with Him now gives us comfort.

At our MAPS National convention in 2003,  Eloise was chosen to sing solo as our opening day “entertainment “.  A BIG deal and honor. Eloise was sharing she had not had the opportunity to rehearse with the pianist. Oh and Eloise had lost her glasses so could not see the sheet music. AND just before her song, she lost a crown from a front tooth! After a short prayer time,  she stood confidently before the piano, head held high. My heart was pounding for her. She belted out a rendition of “The King is Coming “ in a beautiful, almost surreal angelic voice. Not a dry eye in the 400 attending. A standing ovation. Later, I said I was amazed at her composure. She gave me a puzzled look and said “oh I knew the Lord would handle it”!  “She is clothed with strength and dignity” Prov 31:25

My dearest Grandma Eloise, 

I remember when we first met. You looked at me dead in the eyes and the first thing you said was "Well... you sure are good looking." I smiled in disbelief and, right then and there, I knew you were someone special. 

From that moment on, every exchange with you was all smiles- from getting my booty kicked at cards to sharing space at the cabin to enjoying music in the park.

I am overflowing with gratitude for our time together, but, as an observer on the impact you've had on all of the beautiful people in your life, I'd like to share some reflections about your beautiful grand daughter Nicole in particular. 

Every day:
I see your patience in her heart
I see your love of music ringing through her essence 
I see your playful spirit in her personality
I see your joy for life in her eyes

But, most of all, 
I see how nourishing your love is for her and as we grow in our love together,
I can tell you, with complete certainty, that your love of her has changed my life forever. 

May you continue to sing, smile, and be.
Enjoy the peace of the Spiritual Realm- our love with you always.

We had a lot of fun playing cards, dominos and other games, especially 500. She was very good at that.  I have many fond memories with Eloise at the cabin also. We played yard games, went fishing, took her for rides on the golf cart. She rode on the snowmobile too. Donald got her in the kayak once, she didn't care much for that, to tippy I guess. Eloise was the kindest, most lovable person you could ever know. I will miss her craziness, laughing and giggling. She loved life! I am blessed to have had her in my life.

I met Eloise over 20 years ago at a Valentines day party. It was a fun evening and I instantly fell in love with her. After the party I asked  if Eloise might lead a bible study for a bunch of us, and it was a resounding yes. We were thrilled to be able to be under such a strong follower of Christ. Later on Eloise dubbed us the "Fab Four" even when there were more or less of us. 
Every part of Eloise's life pointed to Jesus and the love she has for Him. 
I have so many wonderful memories of her, so filled with Joy even when life wasn't perfect. Of bible studies at her house, and times together at the Wilderness Fellowship, church services at Hope and Emmanuel Christian Center.
I will miss her contagious laugh, her music, her prayers, but mostly her genuine hugs. When Eloise gave you a hug you knew it! It was full of warmth, and love (and strength). I look forward to the day when I get my next one.

When I was 9 years old, Loren, Eloise and Grandma Schmalz came to visit us in Fredonia, WI.  They taught me how to make a wishing well out of a milk carton.  They me glue stones on to decorate it.  I kept it for many years with an ivy plant growing inside.

After college, Loren and Eloise would come to my condo in Grafton, WI to visit.  Loren would always bring his tool box and ask if there were any projects that they could help me with while they visited.  They were wonderful guests!  We would have devotions and talk all night.  Eloise and I exchanged prayer requests and she suggested a prayer book called Prayer Portions.  Loren and Eloise were beautiful reflections of our Heavenly Father's love!

During another trip to Wisconsin, we spent some time in Port Washington.  Eloise entered a drawing at a trendy Fashion and Jewelry Store.  Later that weekend we received a call that Eloise had won the prize: a necklace and matching earrings.  We went back to pick up the prize.  Eloise was so excited.  My heart was so happy that her name was drawn.

The Schmalz family has a special place in our hearts!  It is wonderful to remember the beautiful memories that we have made together.  We love you!  We grieve with all of you, but we rejoice with Eternal Joy that Eloise and Loren have received their Crowns of Glory.  It is our prayer that each of you be comforted with peace that passes all understanding today and each day in the coming years.

I met Eloise when they came to the Wilderness Fellowship as volunteers!  We found out we had both lived in Hutchinson! Eloise became a very dear friend, we had special times together!! I think of Eloise every day as I see the beautiful pillow on my sofa that she sewed for me!! I have been blessed to have had her in my life!!!

Aunt Eloise was the strongest believer I knew.  She loved Jesus with all her heart.  I'm so thankful for all of the people she prayed into God's kingdom.  And for her gospel witness.  I will always remember that most.  

She was also the grandmother to all of my kids since my mom died so young.  And she was so great to my wife Wen.  Like a mother to her.  Our whole family is grieving the loss of Aunt Eloise.  We also have hope we'll see her again one day because of Jesus Resurrection.

Grandma,

Thank you for teaching me the importance of forgiveness and acceptance. Without forgiveness, there would be no way of embracing the future. Without acceptance, there would be no love.  I hold these fundamentals of life close to my heart and will continue to value them always. I will forever love you and never forget what a beautiful, gracious, and loving soul you are! Your legacy lives within me, and for that I am thankful. 

Hillary 

I will never forget the summer your family camped in our backyard at the farm. Since all of us kids were similar ages, it was like having a whole lot of extra siblings to have fun and play with! I can't remember all the details, but I do know that my dad was not too happy when some of the corn got sheared by a wayward tractor pulling a home-made go-cart way too fast! I remember the corn stalks flying up in the air! Seriously,  my dad didn't want anybody to get hurt and luckily, no one did. Good thing we can laugh about it now. 

Loren and Eloise were some of the first people in my recollection to be so expressive in their faith and beliefs. It was something I so admired in them.  

I will always remember Eloise's singing voice, playing the piano and her laughter. 

It was so good to see her just a few months ago.

May God grant you all comfort, peace and strength, and the assurance that she is experiencing a glorious, everlasting life with her Savior!

Mary Jo Mehrl (cousin to Loren)

My husband and I first met Eloise and Loren in Fergus Falls, Mn when Loren and Dean were taking seminary classes together. We were newlyweds and I was a brand new cook,  having to work VERY hard to put together "real" meals every day. We both remember Eloise laughing when we told her what we ate for supper one nite... "Well THAT won't last for long!!  You can't keep cooking 3 course meals, you won't be able to get anything else done!" :)   Our first summer in Fergus Falls, we did a garden together. It was big and time consuming and very good. And... as a result I guess we did lots of eating together. 

Several years later we were in Akita, Japan with Eloise and Loren, teaching English conversation classes in the same program. We had fun exploring the city together, and... yes, there was more eating. On our day off we often had lunch together at an okonomiyaki shop in the basement of a department store. Eloise was a fabulous English teacher and her neighbors and students loved her. 

Although we haven't seen them for a long time, we have many fun and fond memories of two dedicated and spunky people.  We look forward to reuniting in heaven some day. 

May God comfort and uphold you (their family)  at this time.

First let me say I so wanted to be at Aunt Eloise's celebration of life but unfortunately I had to work, I am there in spirit.  Aunt Eloise was a wonderful woman and one that I respected a great deal.  She had a wonderful smile, a big heart and I loved her.  I have many memories of her but one of my memories was at one of Ruth's famous fish fries.  I was actually admiring what good shape she was in and I said how do stay in such good shape?  She just smiled and said I try to pay attention to what I eat and I stay active.  May she rest in peace, I will never forget her.

Grandma, 

I feel so incredibly blessed to have spent endless hours with you. Hillary and I always had so much fun with you and Grandpa. Some of my favorite memories with you are those that we spent at your house- playing card games, bocce ball and croquet in the backyard, our many sleepovers with delicious home made pancakes in the morning, you teaching us how to cook wonderful food and cookies/other desserts, the many crafts you came up with during a weekend at your house, teaching us how to sew and cross stitch, and finding any moment possible to laugh and be goofy. I also feel so grateful for all of the trips you took Hill and I on in your fancy camper! We really knew how to have fun.

My most cherished moment is you teaching me how to play piano starting at 6 years old. Hillary and I both came over to have our piano lessons with you, and we often sang (harmonies included, of course) while you played piano and Hillary and I had our choice of different percussive instruments to play. With your encouragement, I participated in many recitals and competitions. I still play piano to this day and feel endlessly grateful to you!

You have taught me how to be courageous, loving to everyone, gentle, patient, humble, a hard worker, tough, creative, artistic, caring, goofy, and to really love and appreciate nature and animals. There was never a moment that I did not feel totally loved, supported, and encouraged by you.

Eloise my sister (I am her youngest brother),
My sister and her family lived away from Minnesota for part of her life.  It was always a joy and a very, very special time when my sister and her large family visited  (I was still living at home with my parents).  A lot of laughter and fun took place.   Kindness, decency, devotion to her faith, and selflessness will always be my memory of my wonderful sister.  She always found the good in everyone.

Eloise, our teacher and mother

It was 1966 when we, four girls, Akiko, Keiko, Mieko and Kayo (myself), visited the Schmalz family in Grant Heights, Narimasu, Tokyo.
We were members of the English club in a high school and wanted to learn living English from the native speakers. Eloise invited us through their friendship club in the base.

She gave us one hour English lesson every other week. She was an excellent teacher and we enjoyed learning with her very much. After the lesson, we played with her children, Gary, Jeffrey, Michel, Ruth Ann, and Donald, who were very cute children.
In the evening she even invited us to dinner with her family. It was a precious experience for us to know a real life of the American family at the time.We visited the family for about three years, and during the time Naomi was born.

The three years of the precious time with the Schmalz family influenced a lot to us. For me, I became very interested in learning languages and later on became an interpreter.
I lived in New York with my family from 1984 to 1988. During our stay there, I was happily invited to the wedding of Ruth Ann and Ross. I felt like meeting my relatives there and enjoyed our reunion. Loren and Eloise were as sweet as there were in Japan. From time to time, Eloise sent us a letter telling how they lived back in the States.
So I was updated to the information of her children, but seeing them was a different thing. They were all grown up and much taller than me!!!
It was Eloise who gave me a chance to become sociable and confidence in meeting people from different countries.
Thanks to Eloise, we still have contact with the members of the family over a half a century.

Coming November 14th, we, four girls, meet together over the lunch. I am sure that we will be talking about the events with Eloise and her family then.
She is living in our hearts as long as we live. We all love her and her family a lot!!!

Dear Cousins, 
I will forever remember your momma's laugh!  I am hearing it now in my head....... 
Her enthusiasm was legendary.   Her known love for our God, her family,  and her service to mankind will be her lasting legacy, as well as all of you!   May we carry on!

My mom was grateful and thankful for everything. She made sure to let me know how grateful she was for the time I spent with her/taking care of her. Yet, not realizing that she's the one that I learned this most honorable trait from. If it was within her power, there was absolutely nothing she wouldn't do for you. My mom's heart was one of love and service and she did both exceedingly well. If ever you were in my mom's home and she was sitting in her usual chair and you just happened to be walking by and caught her gaze, you would be the victim of an air kiss. I loved her air kisses because they were typically followed up by one of her beautiful smiles. My mom made us pancakes EVERY Saturday morning for breakfast without fail. Another thing that was a constant in my mom's life was the Wheel of Fortune. It didn't matter where she was, if it was 6:30 the TV better be on Channel 4. My mom loved people, her kids, her grandchildren, and most importantly loved Jesus. She also loved joking around. I can remember one time after she went grocery shopping there was a mad dash for the peanut butter, to get first dibs at sticking your finger in it for the first taste (family ritual), and she had already done so by writing in the word HA! I love you Mom! I will miss you always!   

My favorite memory of Cousin Eloise is her beautiful voice praising her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  A Schmalz Reunion always included singing, and her voice and my Mom's always soared above the rest.  Her faith was her strength, and she shared it courageously.  Gary's facebook tribute eloquently described her and moved me deeply.  My love and prayers are with all her Family and friends.  What a great Reunion we'll all celebrate someday in heaven!

My mom was a loving "warrior" in most every sense. Her only reservation on speaking her heart were the feelings of those she loved. God help you if you spoke against Him or His divinely inspired teachings. Her strength in the face of countless trials and horrid tribulations came only from our Lord, and she was quick to give Him the praise. Eloise's dedication to Him and her family was not reserved .....and her love unabashedly spilled onto many others throughout her life. Jesus sits on the right hand and my mom's not too far away on the left. 
 

Even though mom raised 6 children she still had time to have private time with us as we grew.  She shared her talents with us by giving us music lessons of one kind or another while keeping her own schedule of musical engagements, voice and piano students... Oh and keeping a house in order with wonderful chow, getting kids places for extracurricular stuff, a gigantic garden, canning some,, freezing others.....
She unselfishly supported her husband's career in the military both stateside and overseas... 
A more spiritually connected woman is not often found. Mom was a leader in her church community and family... Standing up for what her beliefs were both morally and ethically. Challenging, Radio hosts, newspapers, congressmen, senators and Governors with handwritten strong instructions on her feelings - both positive and negative - with responses from all on where they were at on her topic.
Always up for an adventure, she loved family outings and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.
Mom, I'll miss hanging out with you and cracking jokes back and forth. I'll miss your pancakes, your passion and your love. Thanks for it all. Love, Michael

Eloise was a very special person, in  my life.   Every encounter,  Eloise greeted me with a smile and a kind word.    She also was very wise in sharing just the right bible verse, in times of need.    In addition,  she could whip up a salad in the kitchen, with great speed!  She made me laugh, and her laugh was distinct!  Love and prayers, to all who loved and enjoyed Eloise.   Cheryl Morris

Mom handled every situation with love and grace.  She sacrificed a lot for her children and gave us many great gifts.  Two of those gifts were a great work ethic and a deep sense our our own worth.  That sense of self worth was so important to me as I struggled with other facets of my life.  She instilled in us how important it was to eat in a healthy way and was a role model for me in wellness, long before that word was popular in our culture.

Mom was a gifted seamstress and made a lot of our clothing.  She also made stuffed animals for us, one in particular that I remember was a seal, which must have been very hard to make.  She also made a suit for me when I graduated from high school.  

I remember Gary and I coming home from school one day and mom giving us the news that we were moving to Japan.  The three of us held hands and cheered, jumping up and down, such an adventure!

What I remember about my mom the most was her loving and caring demeanor. She would always greet you with a smile, kiss and a hug that would almost break your ribs. She would always cook meals from scratch (no processed food) and it was always good.  I can smell her homemade bread now. She insisted on cooking meals for me up until a few weeks before she died, and then I was cooking them for her when she was too ill to do it herself.                                                                                                                                                                      I remember when I was really sick she drove me to HCMC and lovingly told me everything was going to be okay and that she would be praying for me often. I'll never forget that.                                                                       My mom was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.  

My Godmother, Aunt Eloise, made the most delicious homemade bread! She had a strong soprano voice—she sang so beautifully at Aunt Carol’s funeral (“It is Well With My Soul”, I think). The whole Schmalz clan camped in our backyard for extended visits in the summers when we lived in White Bear Lake— those were special times! I felt so very honored to be gifted with a pink, flowered, silky kimono as a young girl..also a geisha doll— both from Japan. Your mom will always have a place in my heart. With much love and sympathy to you all.

I'd like to thank those who have and those who will visit this page for the wonderful heartfelt things they have to say about my mom. It is truly bittersweet.  Even being engaged in the process of sorting through her stuff, I've yet to "release" her.  What a sweet balm it is to hear how loved and loving she was to so many. Thank you.

Every single time I saw my sweet aunt Eloise.  She would always give me such a big wonderful hug.  She always would make me feel so special to her. I enjoyed talking to her every time I saw her.  She was so fun to sit and talk to, about everything. When I was a kid our families would play together or meet for the holidays at grandma's and grandpa's house in St. Paul.  I couldn't wait to see her. She had a way of making me feel so special. She had the gift. We could talk and talk and talk.  As a teenager I was amazed that she wanted to talk to me. Because I was a long haired hippie.  At a mixed up time in my life she was there for me.  She truly was my friend. I miss her and always will. Till we meet again my sweet auntie. 

I've known Eloise for quite awhile as my brother's mother in law.
But for the past 6 months I worked as her caregiver, companion and housekeeper. These past months are when I really got to know her.
I discovered what a loving, caring and ridiculously hilarious person she was.
She always had a compliment for me. She always had a "zinger" for me. But most important she always had a giant hug for me. She had such a love for life and nature. But mostly for her family. And I feel grateful for being able to be a part of that. 💞

Clint and I first met Loren and Eloise at a Bible study.  What a dear, sweet couple. I so remember Eloise’ positive attitude, encouraging words, and deep faith in the Lord. She loved  music and especially singing praise songs to the Lord.   We had many dinners in their backyard amidst their great flower and vegetable garden - and of course we had to play ladder ball to wear off the delicious meal. 
Eloise, I will miss your prayers, long hugs, and lengthy emails. You are just one more reason for me to anticipate heaven - can’t wait to see you again. 


I'm Sandy Hanson.  I met your mother while she was a volunteer through Missionary Evangelism to Corrections at the Anoka County Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.  I was an inmate there for eight months and attended quite a few Bible studies with your mom.  I remember her singing one of the songs from Handel's Messiah Suite which had been running through my mind.  It was an impressive A Capella performance.  Eloise was truly a delightful woman of God and I appreciate the time she spent going in to the jails.  I have spoken with her a few times since my release.  
I will truly miss her.  I pray for comfort for you and your family.  It is a joy knowing that she is home with Jesus and Loren.

I loved being able to go to Ruth's house and say "HI" to Eloise when she was there.  Her hugs were always wonderful hugs!!  She was such a precious lady  and  I just loved her!!  She was one of those people that you couldn't help but love!

Dear, sweet sister. Your name evokes memories of the farms in Coates and Rich Valley where we laughed and played together so many times in our childhood. 
And then over the years we visited in one another's homes in Roseville and then way down in Spring, Texas. . . and even when we were blessed with a vacation home in Pagosa Springs, CO. 
What great times we had and so many memories. 
Now Eloise you are at rest. Please say Hi! to Loren for us. We'll all be together around the throne of our blessed LORD Jesus soon. . .

I had Eloise for piano lessons and remember her handwriting for my lesson plans, getting in trouble for not keeping my fingernails trimmed and the long drive to her house.  Of course, it wasnt too bad after I got my drivers license and learned every curve on Bear Lake road!!!  She also had a great smile and laugh!

My precious mom....  I will always cherish the time we had together.  Words are just not enough of how much you meant to me.  You were steadfast, loving, reliable and patient.  You loved me unconditionally even when I made mistakes in life and always had your arms open wide.  I felt comfortable speaking with you and your sound advice was welcomed.  You taught me how to love the Lord and encouraged me to read and study God's Word.  
Your adventurous nature taught me how to have fun and try different things.    You always had a smile on your face.  You helped me love a wide variety of music.  
I will miss your wet kisses, strong hugs, asking me "what time is it?"  and "what the Weather is like?"   I will miss when you look up at the sky and at the trees and proclaim:  "And the heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork!!!" Psalm 19:1.  
"Isn't is gorgeous Ruth!"   "Yes mom! it is".   "Did you hear that bird?"  "Yes mom...so beautiful."
"Oh Lord, take care of my grandchildren when I am gone."  
"Don't forget to tell my children I love them"  "I won't mom"
"I don't want sad music at my service."  "I'll make sure mom"
My life has been eternally blessed because of you mommy...my best friend, my mentor.....Thank you, Thank you
