Passed away peacefully on May 8, 2014 surrounded by family & friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her Husband, Bernie & Brother, Walter. Survived by Children, Scott (Cindy) of Forest Lake & Kristi (Dave) Miner of Texas; Grandchildren, Ben & Noah Miner; and Sister, Lurene (Earl) McHaney of Arizona. Gloria was born in St. Paul on December 14, 1931, and graduated from Harding High School in 1949. She began working for the State of Minnesota & retired after 38 years of dedicated service. She went on to volunteer for over 25 years at the State Services for the Blind & served on the MRSEA board for 18 years. Gloria loved books, crossword puzzles, going to the casino & playing bingo. She enjoyed the outdoors & traveled extensively around the U.S. with family & friends into her early 70s. Gloria had a strong work ethic & sense of family, & will be dearly missed. Heartfelt thanks to The Pillars Hospice Home for their kindness & support. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 20 at Beaver Lake Lutheran Church, 2280 Stillwater Ave. E., Maplewood, with visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to the church.
