Jocelyn B. VanKnight

Jocelyn's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and the joy of family and community. She has now joined her parents, James R. and Dorothy J. Mockabee, and her dear Myron P. Barnett in eternal rest.

Jocelyn was a devoted mother to her children, Robert and Scott (Renee), and a cherished grandmother to Anthony, Brittany, Kyle, Jonah, Christopher, Habib, Abrahim, and Sabrie. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Thomas.

Her legacy of love continues through her four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and values.

A proud alumna of St. Paul Central High School, Class of 1963, Jocelyn later pursued higher education at Augsburg University, graduating in 1988. Her career was marked by her dedicated service to the State of Minnesota, where she worked until her well-earned retirement.

Jocelyn was an active and beloved member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, where she found solace and community. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she shared that light with all who knew her.

Her love for international travel took her on adventures to the Orient, Australia, Italy, and India. These experiences enriched her life and provided countless stories and memories that she shared with her family and friends. Above all, Jocelyn cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, believing deeply in the bonds of family.

Jocelyn's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Allina's Hospice team and the home health aides who made it possible for her to remain at home, surrounded by those she loved most.

In honor of Jocelyn's life and her enduring strength, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, and organization she held dear.

A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate and honor Jocelyn's remarkable life. Though she may no longer walk among us, Jocelyn B. VanKnight's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
