John had a witty and charismatic personality, that welcomed everyone.
Preceded in death by parents Hudson and Betty Mealey; and sister and brother-in-law Jan and Duane Kanne.
Survived by his loving wife Mary; sister Sharon (Todd) Johnson; nephew Michael (Kelly) Shelton; niece Lauren Kanne (Joey Tutowohl) and their son Elliott; niece Lindsey Buekleman; nephew Anthony (Alessandra) Swanson and their daughter Aurelia; and sister-in-law Barbara (Mike) Swanson.
Visitation will be held at Church of Saint Casimir, 934 Geranium Avenue East, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55106, on July 31, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at the same location on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Saint Casimir, the Salvation Army, or the Minnesota Historical Society.
