The family moved to Medina / Bellvere, Washington where Lois’ two sisters were born. Lois attended Grade school with Neighbor children in a one-room schoolhouse about a mile from her home. The family moved to Seattle where Lois attended high school after which she worked as a nanny for a Covenant family with four children and then she worked at the Bible Bookstore in downtown Seattle.
Lois was always fond of children and was also very creative, enjoying sewing, quilting, and many handicrafts throughout her life. Upon the death of her father in 1939, the family relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota, where they were welcomed by the Nelson family. Lois remained in the Twin Cities the rest of her life. She worked making bomb sights during WWII and then was employed as a milliner making hats for specialty customers. She ended up working for St. Paul Fire and Marine until her retirement in 1984.
Lois enjoyed homemaking and all the jobs maintaining a home. She dedicated much of her life to caring for her Mother together with her sister Helen. She was always active in First Covenant Church in St. Paul as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and participated in various church activities including the quilting circle and the Lucia Celebration during the Christmas season.
Lois is survived by her sisters Edythe Mae and Helen, her cousin Craig and his children Jon (Beth) and Cynthia (Bill) and their son Rob, Edythe’s children: Jill, Bette-Jo, Cliff, and Rick and several great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many friends and loved ones.
