Timothy Andrew Eishen was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone very special. To family and friends who knew him best, Timmy will be remembered as a happy little man, and a courageous individual.
Timmy was born on September 19, 1988 at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was the son of Robert and Carol Eishen. Timmy grew up in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Timmy was raised with one sibling. He had an older brother, Bobby. Timmy was involved in all sorts of activities with his sibling. He loved following his big brother everywhere, and Bobby really didn't mind because they got along so good. They experienced some sibling rivalries typical of a growing family, but they were very close.
As a young boy, Timmy had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Timmy was an active child who took part in T-Ball at age 6. In his spare time, he liked to ride his bike and follow his big brother around everywhere. He also loved sitting in his dad's lap. Timmy's memorable achievements included graduating from Pre-School, riding his bike no-handed, catching a bigger fish than his dad and graduating from High School. However, to Timmy, the most fun was simply playing and spending time with his family and friends.
As a child, Timmy enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His other favorite pursuits were polishing rocks and video games. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone, but was also willing to share his interests with family and friends.
In Middle School and High School, Tim found pleasure in recreational sports. Recreational sports included adapted bowling, mini golf, fishing and ice skating in his wheelchair. Timmy was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were the Twins, Gophers, and the Wild. He was lucky enough one day to win tickets to a Twins Game and got to meet all the players and get some great signatures from the players as well.
As a teenager, Timmy had a happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Simley High School in June of 2008. He enjoyed some school activities more than other activities. His favorite class in high school was Adapted Phy. Ed. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was his first Grade teacher Mrs. Jodi Riemnitz at Salem Elementary. She always encouraged him to keep learning, regardless of his disabilities. She always remained a part of his life. Tim will be remembered by classmates and staff as having the best smile and laugh.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Tim enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his short lifetime. While growing up, some of his best friends were Phillip, Joey, Heather, and Jacob. Later in life, he became great friends with Pauly and James, classmates from school. Other special people in Tim's life were: all the staff who cared for him in his home, all the staff from the elementary, middle and high school C.A.R.E. Programs, all the medical providers and staff, all the people from Dakota County who worked on Tim's behalf to give him the best quality of life and to keep him in his home, and all the employees of the Metropolitan Council. Tim touched lives from the east coast to the west coast. He was a very special person to many people.
Timmy enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Sunset Resort in Osakis, MN, Whispering Bay Resort in Lindstrom, MN, going to Milwaukee, WI to see Billy Ray Cirus, and Walt Disney World in Florida. He loved just staying close to home too, and going to the Mall Of America. He had a membership at Under Water World and loved watching the fish (and all the girls at the mall!). Another great pastime of his was going to the movies.
Timmy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. Two of his favorite pets were Fluffy, a pure white cat, and Mitsie, a Shih Tzu. His family was rounded out by his fish called "EL" and his brother’s fish called "VIS". "ELVIS"
Timmy passed away on July 4, 2008 at home with his family in Inver Grove Heights, MN. Timmy fought a very long battle for 13 years from many complications of his Liver transplant in 1995. He is survived by his parents Robert and Carol and his brother Robert Jr. (Bobby). Services were held at Wulff Funeral Home in St. Paul, MN. Timmy was laid to rest at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
Simply stated, Timmy was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and loving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Timmy leaves behind him, a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Timothy Andrew Eishen.
