Velma J. Erickson
March 3, 1923 – March 2, 2014
Age 90 Of St. Paul
Passed away on March 2, 2014. Velma is preceded in death by her Husband, Howard. She is survived by her Children, Philip (Maureen), Linda (Brian) Sundberg; Grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Isaac, Alyson, Aaron; Eight Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Lloyd, Dean, Dick Buzay; Sister, Doris Heinrich. Velma was born in Osage, IA in 1923 to her beloved parents, Edward & Mable Buzay. She moved to St. Paul at age 7 where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Harding H.S. in 1940 and married Howard in 1944. Howard & Velma attended the same church as children and as teenagers Velma was the church pianist and Howard was the choir director. Velma was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. Her entire life she modeled warmth, graciousness, humility and a positive spirit. A service of remembrance will be held at 4:30PM Thurs. 3/6/14 at First Evangelical Free Church, 2696 Hazelwood St., Maplewood. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4PM. Memorials are preferred to Ramsey County Care Center.

I worked with your mother, Velma, at 3M and she was one of the kindest persons I've ever worked with. After she retired I kept in touch at Christmas with cards but noted I did not get a card from her the last two years. My deepest sympathy.

My sympathy to all of you. Velma was just a wisp of a woman but with a big personality. I used to enjoy hearing Velma and Howard stories from Phil. Blessings on you as you go through grieving this important lady in your lives.
