Virginia A. Mahoney

Age 95

Was born July 2, 1921 in New Effington, SD and died on February 12,2017 in Mahtomedi, MN. Preceded in death by her husband, William; grandson, Larry D. Williams; daughter in law, Kathleen (Albrecht) Mahoney; parents Ella and John Hallinan; brothers, Francis, Roy, Paul, and Jon Hallinan and sister, Donna Hallinan. Survived by son, Michael Mahoney of Monona, WI and daughters, Mary Mahoney, Sheila (Lanny) Johnson of Oakdale, MN and Marsha (Russell) Williams of Mahtomedi, MN; six grandchildren, Barbara (Scott) Nyenhuis; Patrick (Kelli) and Jeffery (Valerie) of Monona WI, Scott (Caitlin) Seath of St Paul MN, Karl (Laura) Williams of Cottage Grove, MN, Lee (Amber) Williams of Lake St Croix, Beach; nine great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was an avid volunteer in many schools, her church and in DFL politics, She was an enthusiastic amateur Irish genealogist. Mass of Christian Burial at Church of St. Peter, 2600 N Margaret St., North St. Paul, on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 11am with Visitation one hour before mass. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor’s choice. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Arbor at St Andrew Village for the warm and professional care provided to mom. We also would like to thank the staff of HealthPartners Hospice for their care and support.
