Passed away peacefully at Regina Assisted Living in Hastings, MN on January 24th 2014. Wallace was born on March 11th 1920, raised in St. Paul, Mn. and attended Monroe High School. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC camps) for 3 years in 1936, then enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1939 serving during WWII until 1945. He was married to Gladys Helmick on July 21st, 1945. They lived together on the east side of St. Paul for 66 years. Wallace worked as a cement finisher until retirement and enjoyed reading, his gardens, the many family gatherings over the years and most of all his fishing trips and his cabin on Lake Minnewawa. Wallace is preceded in death by his Mother, Hilda; Father, Edward (Belge) and his Brother, Edward. He is survived by his Loving Wife, Gladys; his Five Children, Craig (Carilyn), Tim (Diane), Cindy, Pat (Carol) and Pam Meyers (Mike) and his Sister, Jane (Griswold) along with Thirteen Grandchildren; Nine Great-Grandchildren and Many Nieces and Nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend the services Thursday, Jan. 30 with visitation from 11-12pm and a Prayer Service at 12noon all at the Wulff Funeral home, 1485 White Bear Avenue N., St. Paul, MN 55106. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
