

Yvonne E. (Phillips) Schlichting, age 76 of Sauk Rapids. Yvonne grew up in Columbia Heights, attending college in St. Cloud earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees, raised her children in Anoka, and moved to Sauk Rapids in her later years.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and family. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, doing her daily crossword puzzle, shopping, watching football, and listening to live music. She was known for her quick wit, dedication to her family, and deep conversations.
Yvonne married Edward Schlichting, Jr. on July 18, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They enjoyed many travels and concerts together, always having fun. They were married for 53 years.
She was a business teacher for 34 years at Spring Lake Park High School and retired in 2004. Yvonne said retirement was the best time of her life, she traveled south for the winters with her husband and many friends and family. They enjoyed their Texas home for many years and always looked forward to going there. She commonly said every day is summer and every day is Saturday.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her mother Juanita, brother Dennis, and best friend Diane Lange.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Edward Jr.; daughters Tania and Trista (Leon) Kosiba; brother Thomas (Jolene) Phillips; and sister-in-law Eileen Phillips. She is also survived by step grandchildren Chris (Paige) Kosiba, Mitch (Gracie) Kosiba, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 3 - 6:00pm at Williams Dingman Funeral Home, 324 2nd Ave S. in Sauk Rapids. Service will be at 6:00pm. Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Yvonne requested that people wear purple to the funeral which was her favorite color.
She was loved dearly and will be missed especially by her family.
