A resident of Roswell, Georgia, Kris’ sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. For more than 20 years, he was a dedicated employee of UPS where he took pride in his work. Before his UPS career, Kris worked as a chef in various restaurants locally and across the country where he learned and loved to cook for others. At family gatherings, he always prepared and treated us with flavorful dishes using the skills he developed over these years.
Outside of his careers, he became an outdoor enthusiast who found joy in fishing, camping, and kayaking, which he experienced living in Ketchikan, Alaska, San Luis Obispo, California, Eugene, Oregon, and several cities in Georgia. He had a deep appreciation for nature and was happiest spending time outdoors. He also had a passion for music and would travel with friends across the country to experience live performances of different bands. In quieter moments, he enjoyed reading and watching movies. Kris especially loved football and baseball seasons when he could be found cheering on the Atlanta Braves, the University of Alabama and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kris will be remembered for his presence, his spirit, and the way he connected with family and friends. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose memory will continue to live on in the lives he touched.
He is survived by his father, Donald William Lampley, and his mother, Carole Posey Lampley of Cumming, Georgia; his sister, Erin Lampley Wood and brother-in-law, Matthew Alan Wood, and nieces Elizabeth Wood and Lindsey Wood, also of Cumming, Georgia; his sister, Jessica Lampley Menerey and brother-in-law, Matthew John Menerey, and nieces Katelyn Menerey, Kinleigh Menerey, and Kelsey Menerey of Woodstock, Georgia; his uncle, Wallace Leo Lampley, Jr. of Franklin, Tennessee; his aunt and uncle, Charlotte Faye Lampley Wyatt and Randall Everett Wyatt and of Spring Hill, Tennessee and many beloved cousins and friends across the country.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wallace Leo Lampley and Myrtle Francis Childress Lampley of Franklin, Tennessee; his maternal grandparents, Irby Cleve Posey and Clara Virginia Cauthen of Birmingham, Alabama; his uncle, William Cleve Posey of Mobile, Alabama; and his aunt, Treva Sue Posey Penner of Cumming, Georgia.
Though his time here was far too short, Kris’ life was meaningful and will always be cherished and remembered. His family and friends will carry forward his memory, holding onto many moments they shared with him.
Kris was also a devoted animal lover who cherished his pets throughout the years, Chloe, Cleve, Casey, and Jackie, each holding a special place in his heart.
