

Webby was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica to Hubert and Vernes Samuels on November 6, 1950. While a young boy Webby’s parents moved to Kingston, where Webby received both his primary and secondary education. After finishing high school Webby worked in his father’s business prior to migrating to Maryland where he furthered his education. Soon after finishing his schooling in Maryland, he moved to Miami where he got a job with the Miami Herald in IT support.
On March 29, 1986 Webby married the love of his life, Juliet Young, in Miami, FL. They had two daughters, Alyssa and Brianna. Webby was a loving husband and doting father.
Webby retired in 2014 from The Miami Herald after working there for 39 years. As an avid sports fan, Webby enjoyed rooting for the local Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins teams.
Webby was preceded in death by: Hubert Samuels, Vernes Samuels, and James Samuels.
Webby is survived by: his spouse, Juliet Young-Samuels; daughter, Alyssa Samuels Holland; daughter, Brianna Samuels; sister, Claire Shearer; sister, Grace McFarlene; sister, Leoney Neumann; and sister, Karline Samuels.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South - 11655 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186. Inurnment will follow at 12:00 PM onsite at the Serenity Cremation Gardens 1.
