Elizabeth Louise Simpson

She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Florence Nunn. She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Richard Gordon Simpson, daughter Deborah, sons Kenneth and Barry, and her brother, The Honourable D. Merlin Nunn and sister Mary Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Dr. Jim MacKillop) son, Lorne (Janet), daughters-in-law, Diane Simpson and Wendy Simpson. Also surviving are grand children Ian MacKillop (Ashley), Craig MacKillop (Amy), Laura MacKillop, Brent Martin (Kim), Kirk Martin, Jillian Hobbs (Greg), Chris Simpson, Shawn Simpson (Tatiana), Alex Simpson (Caitlin), Adam Simpson (Warren), step grand children, Max Haddad and Jessie Haddad, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Betty grew up in South Bar and graduated in 1951 from the nursing school associated with the then New Waterford General Hospital. She loved curling, travelling, and spending time with family in Baddeck and Prince Edward Island.

The family like to thank the staff of the Northside Nursing Home for the kindness and care shown to Betty. Donations may be made to Cape Breton Cancer Patient Care Fund at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or charity of choice. Family service will be at a later date.
