Elizabeth "Liz" Jean (McAllister) Mobley, 50, of Tampa, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 18, 2020. She was born in Falmouth, MA on May 9, 1969 to Michael W. McAllister, Sr. and Pamela D. McAllister. Liz moved with her family to Tampa, Florida in 1973. Liz was a graduate of Leto High School (c/o 1987). Liz was a beloved and devoted preschool teacher with KinderCare for over 29 years. Over the course of her career she positively influenced hundreds of young children with her love and care.
Liz loved the beach, music, dancing, laughing, and especially spending time with family and friends. Liz was one of a kind…eccentric, funny, hard working, caring and the life of the party. She was a loving daughter, caring wife, awesome sister, doting aunt and avid friend. She had a unique sense of humor, kind heart and a joyful spirit. Liz always lit up the room when she walked in with her fun loving smile! Liz was a breast cancer survivor and organ donation advocate.
She is survived by her spouse, Ron Mobley; mother, Pamela (Larry) Jones; father, Michael (Shirley) McAllister Sr.; brother, Michael (Sydney) McAllister Jr.; nephew, Michael McAllister III, all of Tampa, FL; aunts, Patricia Jo (Daniel) Dean, Milford, MA, Joanne (Marc) McAllister-Price, Encinitas, CA, Deborah (Peter) Daniello, Barrington, RI; uncle, William (Amy) McAllister, North Kingstown, RI; aunt, Debbie Jean Jones, Memphis, TN; cousins, Cristin, Ryan, Joshua, Zachary, Misty, Sara, Stephanie, Olivia and Julia; numerous friends and co-workers; and her beloved furbabies; Boogy, Ziggy, Rusty, and Coco.
Our hearts are broken forever to have lost you, but you did not go alone, a part of us went with you the day God called you home. Liz, we already miss you so much and will always love you.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Liz’s memory to LifeLink Legacy Fund, National Breast Cancer Foundation or Tunnel to Towers. A gathering of family and friends will take place Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 1pm-3pm at Blount & Curry - MacDill.
