Born on May 10, 1942, in Dusetos, Lithuania, Algimantas and his family moved to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1949 to escape the Soviet occupation after spending his earliest years in displaced persons camps across Europe.
He is survived by his wife Lucia; his sister Jura; his five children, Darius, Linas, Gintas, Rima, and Gytis; and many other loving family members. Al served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1993. After retiring, he worked to help the newly independent Lithuania establish military forces that were instrumental in helping the country enter NATO.
