

Angel Luis Tolentino, age 61, passed away on July 24, 2026. Born on December 27, 1964, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Angel worked for many years as a dedicated subcontractor. Known for his strong work ethic and deep love for his roots, he cherished relaxing by the water while fishing, hosting and attending lively family parties, and keeping a proud, lifelong connection to his home island of Puerto Rico. His warmth, presence, and devoted heart will be dearly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
Angel was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Maria I. Perez; his father, Hiram E. Tolentino; and his brother, Allen Tolentino.
He is survived by his fiancée, Eunice Rodriguez; his lifelong friend and mother of three children, Isabel R. Tolentino; and his aunt, Luz Mercedes Perez. Angel leaves behind a rich legacy through his children: sons Jonathan Hernandez (Jenna Sabas) and Luis Angel Tolentino; daughters Elizabeth Melendez (Evaristo), Angely Tolentino (Deandre Williams), Melissa Tolentino (Fidelin Serrano), Angelique Tolentino-Martin (Carl), and Ashley Tolentino (Paul Andujar-Rivera); and bonus daughter Lena Cruz. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers Hector Amaro (Dana), Fernando Amaro, Kelvin Tolentino (Natasha), and Carlos Tolentino; his sisters Yolanda Velez (Angel), Sylvia Fleury (David), and Elizabeth Gelpi; and an abundance of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Angel’s memory lives on through his twenty one grandchildren: Jeremiah Montes de Oca, Giovanni Montes de Oca, Mariano Martinez, Mariah Medina, Maribel Serrano, Makayla Serrano, Damian Serrano, Richliany Tolentino, Adianely Tolentino, Samary Fontanez, Nicole Martin, Cedric Martin, Carter Martin, Calvin Nicolas, Elijah Andujar-Tolentino, Jayden Hernandez, Jamie Hernandez, Nyasia Melendez, Jonathan Melendez, Gabriel Cruz-Gonzalez and Cherisse Cruz-Gonzalez; as well as his five great-grandchildren: Zayden Canales, Zion Canales, Judah Melendez, Malachi Melendez, and Sawyer Melendez.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, located at 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 3:00 PM during the visitation hours.
