Tony “Nico” Guggino was the youngest of six children. He was the baby boy with beautiful blue eyes and white hair. Tony, his sister Lillie and brothers Joe, Steve, Gaspar, and Carl, were the last of an incredible golden age for the Gugginos. Six amazing people who were one-of-a kind. We are all lucky to have known them, loved them, and are filled with wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
From a young age, Nico was always into something and that stayed true for 90 years. He will forever be remembered for his amazing parties or as the Gugginos called it any day of the week. Nico was an enigma, the Tampa version of the Rat Pack. He thought he was Frankie Blue Eyes even though he always admitted Dean had the better voice. He enjoyed his friends like they were his family, and he enjoyed his family like they were his friends. Family and friends were one in the same to him. The “Remember When Club” assembled every Monday morning over Cuban coffee. Nico and his fellow Tampanians (or Tampeños) spoke their own unique language amongst each other as they basked in their glory days. Tony loved his vino and his cigars. But he only enjoyed them when he had his family and friends to give a “salute” every 10 seconds. This would usually take place with a Yankees or Dolphins game in the background, always asking how Marino was doing. His famous Domino nights led to one of his favorite lines of all-time. The Gugginos were on a winning streak that particular night, and his friend Johnny says “something wroooooong here!” He never stopped laughing at that line. And that’s who he was. He wasn’t a man who took himself too seriously; he found humor and fun in everything. He was always there to make anyone and everyone laugh and would offer some of the best one-liners at the drop of a hat.
Tony “Nico” Guggino will be missed by so many, and “I guarantee” as he said better than anyone that he misses all of us even more.

The Celebration of Life will take place August 14th, 2021 from 4 PM-7 PM at Blount & Curry 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa, 33609. This will be "Nano Style" meaning be ready to eat, drink, laugh and have fun. Come casual. That's the only way he would want it, so that's how we will have it. Another one of his favorite lines, "I did it My Way". So we will honor him, HIS WAY!
"In Lieu of Flowers"
