Birdie Letitia Cason

CASON, Birdie Letitia,90,peacefully passed away at her home on January 30. Birdie was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 11, 1924 where she grew up until her marriage to Robert M. Cason, Sr.. She lived in Thomson, GA and Tampa, FL. Birdie was predeceased by her parents, John and Thelma Gunter, husband Robert M. Cason, Sr., son Daniel Cason, and granddaughter BJ Card. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Cason Lewis and Letitia Cason (Glenn Pratt) and two sons R. Mell Cason, Jr. and Johnnie Cason (Denise Givens); grandchildren Dennis Card (Karen England), Casey (Jennifer) Lloyd, Emma Cason-Pratt, Jordan Cason, Spencer Cason, and Lee Cason; Jessica Cason and Alison Cason; great-grandchildren Zack Card and Mathew Robert Card. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ellen Gunter and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. She was a member of Palma Ceia Methodist Church and Marshall Baptist Church, the Tampa Womens’ Club and Tampa Garden Club. A unique soul, Birdiealways stood out in a crowd and will be remembered most for her deep love for her family. She lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, February 6th at Curtis Funeral Home in Thomson, GA, and a service at 2pm on Saturday, February 7th at Marshall Baptist Church.A memorial service will be held in Tampa at 4pm on Saturday, February 28th at the home of Johnnie Cason.
