ALMERICO, Blanche Rose, 96, passed away on April 20, 2019 in Lutz, FL. She was born on October 18, 1922 in Holguin, Cuba to the late Fernando Silvestre II and Juana Pisonero Almenares. Blanche immigrated to the US in 1941, first settling in Miami. While in Miami, she met her future husband Joseph Almerico and they married in 1943 before moving to Tampa in 1950. Blanche was a gifted seamstress and worked for JC Penney’s for 25 years before retiring in 1987. She also put her skills to work for the University of South Florida School of Dance and Theater where she designed and made costumes for many of their productions. Blanche enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She also had a love for travel. The family wishes to thank Brighton Gardens and St. Josephs Hopsital North, East Wing for the excellent care they provided. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Almerico as well as her daughter Nancy Joanne Robaldo. She is survived by her daughter Frances Lausier, son Joseph Almerico, daughter Julliette Teuton (Dean), Michael Almerico (Nelly), and Richard Almerico (Kimbra); 9 grandchildren Todd, Heather, Kenny, Kevin, Christopher, Michael Dean, Lauren, Eric and Kailey; 5 great grandchildren Connor, Rian, Michael Prado, Kenny and Gracie. 1 great great granddaughter Aria, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will take place on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5 to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. A mass will then be celebrated on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 12PM at St Paul Catholic Church with interment to follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park in Tampa.
