Bobby Leon Gunter

Bobby Leon Gunter 79, of Tampa, left this life on October 9, 2014. He was born on April 4, 1935, in Savannah, Georgia. Bob grew up in Savannah and attended Savannah High School and Benedictine Military School. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree of Business Administration. While at the University of Georgia, he was a member and officer of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. As a Veteran of the United States Navy, he served onboard the battleship USS Iowa (BB61). Mr. Gunter worked for Certain-Teed Corp. as a Regional Sales Manager and later retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass as Regional Sales Manager in Atlanta. Bob was one of the most loyal fans of the Georgia Bulldogs throughout his years. One of his greatest joys was watching and cheering on the "Dawgs"!! Bob was a member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church where he served as a greeter on Sunday mornings. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his daughter, Gabrielle Patterson; and grandsons, Stratton and Stokes Patterson. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church.
