

Brenda moved with her parents to Leesburg, FL, in 1941 and attended public school there, graduating from Leesburg High School in 1955. She then attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1959 with a B.A. in Education. She married Max Kinley of Tampa in 1959 and taught elementary school in Tampa, St. Louis, and Atlanta.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents, her husband Max (2001), and her daughter Brenda Orcutt (2019). She is survived by her son Edward Kinley (Jennifer Jason); two grandchildren, Brenda Orcutt Richards (Craig) and Max Edward Kinley; Max’s mother Rhonda Haydak; and great-grandson Kieran Richards.
Brenda was an Elder in Hyde Park Presbyterian Church as well as a past president of the Presbyterian Women, a Sunday School teacher, and a leader of Women’s Bible Studies.
She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, a member and past president of Rose Garden Circle and a board member of Tampa Federation of Garden Clubs. She was a Scout leader for the years her children were young, and she delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was also a member and past president of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, a member of the PEO Chapter Q, a member of the DAR Green River KY chapter, member of Club Yana, and a member of the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club.
In later years Brenda was a Realtor with Coldwell Banker and continue to manage her husband’s fertilizer business as president of Jack-Mar Inc.
Brenda loved gardening, especially growing roses. Through the years she had and loved many cats, as well as two dogs. She enjoyed putting out birdseed each day for the birds and squirrels who came to her garden. Brenda always enjoyed driving up to Leesburg and getting together with her girlfriends from childhood. She was a devout Christian, and she loved her church, studying her Bible, as well as having a Bible Study group in her home each week.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 13th from 5:00-7:00pm at Blount & Curry Life Event Center – MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609. The funeral service is Thursday, August 14th at 11:00am at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, 1309 W. Swann Ave, Tampa, FL 33606. Following the funeral service, Brenda will be laid to rest at 3:00pm at Lone Oak Cemetery, located at Westside Drive and Thomas Ave in Leesburg, FL 34748.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Meals on Wheels, a cause dear to Brenda’s heart.
