He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Alessi Fielland; stepson Dean Stadtlander (Carla); grandsons James Mitchell (Gabriella), Reid Mitchell (Christina), Mark Mitchell (Emma), and Andrew Stadtlander (Michelle); granddaughter Rachel Rector; son-in-law George Mitchell; and nine great-grandchildren.
Carl graduated from H.B. Plant High School, where he played varsity football. He went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a master’s degree in engineering.
After graduation, Carl worked for his family’s construction company, Carl A. Fielland Construction Co. He later became the Port Engineer for the Port of Tampa and then the Port of Miami.
Upon retirement, Carl moved back to Tampa, where he enjoyed fishing and traveling.
